This page is for adoptables I've gotten from other places on the web.
Most are from long-defunct click-and-take adoptable sites, which I spent a lot of time on as a kid.
New Lambda has its own adoptables available here!
While I'm no longer active on any of them, I do have accounts on several virtual pet sites:
I used a spreadsheet to keep track of the dragons I collected.
Feel free to make a copy if you'd find it useful.
Pets on MML would "grow" over time through 5 life stages (Egg > Baby > Juvenile > Adult > Old) by having their image replaced where it was hosted, eventually becoming retired and unavailable. The site featured detailed descriptions of their biology and habits, as well as size charts.
When I originally played on the site at 12/13, I figured out how to exploit the naming conventions of the links to "adopt" retired creatures I shouldn't have had access to. Below are some creatures I had in my kennel before the forum died:
Some pets had very special colorations, called "VSC"s, acquired through donating or as contest rewards. I was never able to aquire these "illegally" because I couldn't figure out the name for the links to them:
Some pets did not grow at all, and were acquired through different means:
"Orbaru" were special, hard-to-get creatures that could only be acquired through breeding.
I was never able to get one, but I still like their art:
Custom colored pets could be ordered from the site's creator, Spirit, by paying with real money. To trade with another player for a rare pet, I ordered a pet of the "Salaves" breed with custom colors to their specifications (a corn snake pattern). I was able to find the custom I ordered for them through current efforts to archive the site. I have no idea where this person is so I'm reclaiming the gif I used my mom's money to pay for in 2008:
The original MML roleplay site, Hidden Crossroads, is defunct, but there is an effort to revive what remains of the community and create an archive the art made by the site's creator.
